Soil Not Oil

Why I never investigated the world of agriculture before I don’t know. Wait, I’m lazy and hate real work.  That’s changed though. Lifestyle changes forced me towards the world of sustainable development. Besides noticing that practically everything in my supermarket is chemical waste, Vandana Shiva’s book is a real eye opener into the real world issues of Climate Change, Food and Energy.  The age of over production/consumption nears an end and the solution is not more but less.  Industrialization, propelling the lucky few to a greater standard of living, and then into fat slobs, must see reduced time.  The increasing monoculture of fossil fuel as it’s engine needs to be brought back to a state of biodiversity. Local decentralized development is strongly pushed with Shiva’s views, and why not.  It not only commits more time to your physical well being but it’s an activity that commits families and communities to truly build together.  I never try to bore anyone with the details of any book, but take it upon yourself to Wake Up and read this book. I can’t give this book a greater plug.

Steel Pan
I’ve come to love playing this instrument the most. Everything, from it’s unique acoustic sound, to the Flag Woman soaking up the music. Can’t wait to be part of a steel band playing “On de road” @ Caribana. Got to be the maddest man on the pan

Our hearts are filled with such ease and contentment that if kings came to know of it they would come with armies to rob us of this wealth.
